Blue Dye in Petrographic Epoxy
« on: June 22, 2022, 01:11:19 PM »
I have a visitor who would like to analyze tiny crystals that were embedded with blue dye petrographic epoxy ("EMS Petrographic Epoxy Blue Dye").

The epoxy is likely to see plenty of damage as we are navigating and targeting the small grains of interest. I have heard horror stories about blue dye from devolatilized epoxy coating the instrument chamber/optics.

Does anyone have experience with samples mounted with blue dye epoxy and their stability under the e-beam and at high vacuum?
