Spreadsheet of sin theta values, background interferences
« on: February 21, 2017, 06:49:29 AM »
Hi,

I've finally adapted the JEOL l value spreadsheet for Cameca sin theta.

It includes correction for reflective index.

Using the excel filter - you can examine the range of interest and it gives relative position of interfering lines.

In the example below - looking at Fe KA1. Elements of atomic number <30, x-rays lines with intensity > 1% and LIF range 47000 to 49000 are shown. Mn Kb1 is seen to occur at -638

I've just found that I was calculating sin theta wrong for the high order interferences - for I was using n*lamda - but in the xray table (as given in calczaf) the angstrom for high order interferences is the apparent wavelength (i.e. angstrom = n*lamda in table)

So I've corrected the calculation in the spreadsheet
