Oxford Instruments EDS systems
« on: March 04, 2014, 06:12:37 AM »
We recently installed an Oxford Instruments X-Max N detector on our JXA-8200.   It is standalone.  Also, Oxinst does not have an npo for their systems, so it cannot read column conditions, i.e. kV, or magnification, or stage position.  That said the scan coils are controlled so there is point and shoot capability within a field of view.  The system is also now the same as the almost all of our others but one (NSSix).

PfEPMA integration/utilization of the detector would be much appreciated.

Hi Craig,
This is something Probe Software would be willing to do as soon as we get an order for our EDS-WDS integration package from someone that wants to interface to an Oxford system. The only caveat is that we would only want to develop this interface for the current Oxford Aztec API which apparently Oxford has just finished implementing.

I'm assuming that if someone has the older INCA software they could upgrade to the new Aztec software to utilize this new API for integrated EDS-WDS as described here:
