Processing Capabilities of Probe Image
« on: April 08, 2015, 11:18:12 AM »
Does Probe image have the ability to add elemental maps? For instance if I were to map the same trace element on multiple spectrometers could I add them all together to produce a single, higher quality map? Also, can the software do ratio maps or even calculate An# or Fo# maps? Thanks.

Hi Chris,
Yes to all.

Re-processing of raw intensity maps acquired by Probe Image for background, matrix and interferences is performed in our CalcImage app. Here is a aggregate intensity mapping feature in CalcImage:

and here is the end-member map quant in CalcImage also:

See the 2nd attachment for a feldspar end-member quant map (you'll need to be logged in to see attachments).

and here are formula maps:

I'll be adding in the ability to perform image math in CalcImage using a user specified formula in the next month or so...
