Question on using the (manual) New project menus in CalcImage

In the CalcImage application generally (almost always) one would use the Project | Create (new) Project Wizard menu to guide one through the process of creating a new CalcImage project for quantification of x-ray maps.

But in the beginning, we also implemented menus for manually creating a new project, selecting the PFE MDB file and sample for the x-ray map configuration including menus for manual adding maps to that manually created project as seen here:



Of course many of you found it easier to just edit a CalcImage CIP project file using a text editor which is just a simple text file with the extension .CIP as shown here:

But now that the CalcImage new project wizard is so versatile we wonder if it's worth keeping these manual "load" menus around?   It's not a big deal to keep them, but we really don't have much more space for new menus, so if no one is using these menus we might consider getting rid of them.

If you answered the poll with either answer 2 (I almost always use the Create (new) Project Wizard menu in CalcImage but once in awhile use the manual menus) or 3 ( I often use the manual add image menus in CalcImage), could you please provide a brief explanation of why you feel the need to use the manual add image menus in CalcImage?

I answered 3: I often perform quantitative mapping on our JEOL using the JEOL PC-EPMA software as it controls both our SXES and JEOL EDS. In some cases - particularly light elements on the LDE crystals - I will make extra positions in the JEOL software for use as background maps. I will then convert everything using CalcImage into the Probe Image file format, and then add the backgrounds as required using the manual options.
