Is there a way for PFE to automatically read in the current instrument conditions on startup?

Paul Carpenter says to set this keyword in your Probewin.ini file:

[Software]
UseCurrentConditionsOnStartup=1        ; force reading of KV Probe current beam size etc. and use values read on program entry

This has the side effect that PHA parameters are read.  The default values in the scalers.dat are what are used to populate the fields when setting a new element up on spec 3 etc. in the elements/cations window.

Please note I also posted JEOL and Cameca Probewin.ini file examples in the Hardware section.

Also, remember... it will not hurt to crack the User Reference help file open as some point-  all these configuration options are documented quite well.
