Currently our PFE log window displays wt% with three digits after the decimal point. For trace element measurement, we would like to see ppm level concentrations. How to display elemental or oxide wt% with 4 or 5 digits after the decimal point in the log window? Thanks.
Hi Donggao,
Good question!
From the Analytical | Analysis Options dialog, simply check the Use Automatic Format For Quantitative Results checkbox as seen here:
You'll have two choices, both are useful for trace element analyses.
The first is what you asked for, it gives the maximum number digits possible. The second, formats based on sensitivity and detection limit. So a normal output looks like this:
ELEM: P P P P P Zr Si O SUM
XRAY: (ka) (ka) (ka) (ka) (ka) (la) () ()
179 -.012 .002 .000 .004 .025 50.088 15.323 34.913 100.342
180 .003 .001 .001 -.019 .000 49.584 15.323 34.913 99.806

And the first option outputs like this:
ELEM: P P P P P Zr Si O SUM
XRAY: (ka) (ka) (ka) (ka) (ka) (la) () ()
179 -.01235 .00239 -.00034 .00366 .02467 50.0875 15.3230 34.9130 100.342
