The Big Bruker Bug Thread
« on: June 28, 2017, 10:29:21 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with a tonne of bugs using the latest version of Esprit (2.1.0.15376) and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing their experiences.

So far I have the following:

1) Normal maps (I don't have hypermap) have a large black strip on them that appears only after the mapping finishes.
2) Spectrum jobs straight up don't work.  It goes through the motions but doesn't collect spectra.
3) Sometimes when collecting multiple points using the object mode it stops a point massively early, probably less than a second of collection.

I'd love to hear from anyone else having trouble.  Thanks!

Thanks to Ben Hanson at Corning we recently learned that Esprit was not reading the high voltage from the JEOL 8500 EPMA instrument. It was reading the mag and stage positions OK, but just not HV.  This issue did not affect the JEOL 8900, 8200 or 8230/8530 instruments, only the 8500 instrument.

This is now fixed, so if you have a JEOL 8500 you should contact Bruker and they should be able to get you an Esprit update to fix this HV read issue.
