Oxford Aztec
« on: September 05, 2023, 02:15:48 AM »
Hi

Anyone else have a issue with Oxford Aztec presentation of data where oxides and non-oxides present? i.e. any geological material containing halogens

The elemental column including everything

The oxide column excluding elements without oxygen - F, Cl given zero, and low total

Normally in geology would combined them as below

Seems like a need for another column.

That's a good point. The question is does one want to see all the elements for a particular data type or all the data types for each element?

In Probe for EPMA the default display method is to show all the elements for each data type, but if one double-clicks a data point in the (lower) data grid in the Analyze! window, a new window pops up that displays all the data types for each element (a la your Oxford example), but just for the data point that was double-clicked.

See here for an example of this feature which a few people are probably unaware of:

Sorry that I don't have a suggestion for doing this in the Oxford software... did you ask Philippe Pinard?

So the larger image mosaics slow down faster is your point?

You should add a legend to your plot, to make that clear...     :)
