Startwin - Alignment Peak Center
« on: July 28, 2017, 01:21:04 AM »
Hi there,

I am having some troubles using the Startwin Alignment peak center feature. Maybe it is because of my shielded SX100R.

Attached for example data from my SP2 Qtz crystal over the whole z stage. I would expect a maximum somewhere, but to me this curve looks really strange.

John, do you have some data from your own maching? For example for a PET or LiF crystal? I would like to compare with my data.

Thanks
Philipp

Hi Philipp,
I haven't performed such an "alignment" peak center for some time on my instrument (Cameca spectrometers are so stable!), so I would have to do some searching next time I'm in the office.   I think Paul Carpenter has also performed a number of these sorts of alignment peak centers on his JEOL instrument.

This isn't exactly the same thing, but it does show the intensity as a function of Z:

The only stupid question is the one not asked!
