Carbon Coater Problem

Hi
 We have a problem with our carbon coater (Denton Vacuum Benchtop). The part holding the rod is melting and deforming, as well as the screw used to tighten the carbon rod (see attached picture). ???
 
Did any of you already experienced that? Any idea of a possible fixing?

We've got a Cressington 208C, which seems pretty similar in design.

Whenever users start reporting issues with the carbon coating, it's usually because it's in need of some new consumables.

First part I'd be looking at for this problem would be the ground lead:

And probably also the springs:

And possibly some of the ceramic insulators. Range of parts seems to be here:
