Editing the Probewin.ini file for Pathfinder interfacing

Find the PROBEWIN.INI file in the C:\ProgramData\Probe Software\Probe for EPMA folder and edit the following keywords in the [hardware] sections (this folder may be hidden but can be unhidden using Windows File Explorer under View | Options):

EDSSpectraInterfacePresent=1 ; <> 0 indicates true
EDSSpectraInterfaceType=5 ; 5 = Thermo NSS or PathFinder
EDSThinWindowPresent=1 ; <> 0 indicates true
Thermo NSSVersionNumber=5 ; Thermo version number

Thermo NSS versions supported are 3 and 4, PathFinder version 1 and 2 are supported, but needs to be
specified as ThermoNSSVersionNumber = 5 (PathFinder version + 4).

For Pathfinder version 2.10 and higher specify ThermoNSSVersionNumber = 6.

Pathfinder version 2.10 and higher includes new data re-processing functions for improving accuracy in processing spectrtra for net intensities. By specifying ThermoNSSVersionNumber = 6 in your probewin.ini file, these new functions will get utilized.
